Information Collection and Use
Nuclear Matters is the sole owner of information collected on this site. We will not sell, share, or rent this information to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this statement. Nuclear Matters collects information from our site visitors at several different points on our website.
Our websites offer several opportunities for visitors to register for informational mailings. These registration forms are often linked to Nuclear Matters mailing lists and require users to give contact information (such as name and email address). We use this contact information to send users information about Nuclear Matters events, news updates and new initiatives. Users may opt-out of receiving future mailings at any time.

European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Compliance:
Information Collection, Use, Retention and Sharing: Nuclear Matters does not collect personally identifiable information of visitors to the website; however, we do track how long a user visits the site. This information is provided to Google Analytics to inform Nuclear Matters of how many visitors we are serving and plan for website capacity and statistics on usage. This information has no personally identifiable information attached to it. Nuclear Matters only retains this data as long as you are on the website. Once you have ended your visit to www.nuclearmatters.com, the data is gone; however, Google keeps this information for two years. Nuclear Matters’ website also has an advocate center which requires login access. Nuclear Matters does hold personally identifiable data, which is stored in our advocate database, NationBuilder. NationBuilder is both the website’s content management system and CRM/contact database. As such, NationBuilder is responsible for all data security and privacy; though, Nuclear Matters has sole ownership of the data we collect. You can read NationBuilder’s Terms of Service here: https://nationbuilder.com/tos We use this data to measure how involved Nuclear Matters’ advocates are with the coalition, send email communications about coalition updates, policy issues, or other grassroots activities. Nuclear Matters’ administrators and website managers have access to this data. These two groups need access to facilitate the activities described above. The data is retained as the purpose of collection is ongoing. Nuclear Matters will promptly remove accounts covered by the GDPR upon request. Nuclear Matters collects this information under the GDPR’s lawful basis of legitimate interest. Nuclear Matters believes this information is necessary to adequately involve advocates in coalition activities and send them personalized updates. The information retained has a minimal impact to privacy and is secure through NationBuilder.
GDPR Access and Control Over Data: If you are presently in the European Union, the General Data Protection Regulation offers you rights to your data which you are free to exercise at any time. You can exercise those rights by contacting Nuclear Matters’ Data Protection Officer, who will facilitate your request within the 30 day required time under the GDPR. For purposes of the GDPR, Nuclear Matters’ is the controller, which is defined as the organization that determines the purposes and means of processing of personal data.
