Maryland Nuclear Power Plant’s Contribution to the State Economy

The Brattle Group has determined that Calvert Cliffs, the only nuclear plant in Maryland, contributes approximately $397 million to state gross domestic product (GDP) ($536 million in gross output), accounts for about 2,300 in-state full time jobs (direct and secondary), helps keep electricity prices low, and is responsible for nearly $15 million in net state tax revenues annually.
